Most of my entries are Friends Only because I often post pictures of my son, and I had some odd men with creepy interests friending me when I did :o/

But I am usually happy to add anyone who would like to read my journal, so just comment if you would like to be added :o) And please let me know how you found me!

Nuggets & Chips

  • Jul. 2nd, 2009 at 1:18 AM
Laugh Kitten
Late this afternoon we dropped Josiah off at my Mum's for a couple of hours so we could go to a meeting, and we got him a popcorn chicken snack box from KFC on the way. He was very excited to be having chips and "nuh-ettes" for dinner.

When I put him to bed tonight I was asking him what he did while he was at Mama's house.

"Eat chips," he said.

"And what else?" I asked.

"An nuh-ettes."

At that point I noticed he had a booger in his nose, so I picked it out and said "You've got a nugget in your nose."

He stuck his finger up his right nostril and said "Got nuh-ette in nose."

And then he stuck his finger up his left nostril and said "Got chips in nose."

Infinite Jest

Read Time
Do any of you have a copy of Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace I could borrow for a few months?

I'm taking part in the Infinite Summer challenge, and even second-hand copies of this book are on the expensive side. I have been able to source a decent price on a new copy from the US - even with shipping it's cheaper than buying locally! - but thought I'd try and loan one first.

I'm more than willing to send money to cover postage costs.

(PS. I do seem to have the 'flu. I'm going to bed for the weekend. Night!)

You are independent and a bit stubborn. You are content to do your own thing.
You are curious about the world but still an individual. You prefer to be a solo explorer.

You enjoy your alone time, but you also like some quiet company from time to time.
You crave companionship, even if it means just spending time in the same room together.

Sick Teddy

Are you worried about catching the swine flu? Do you have a plan for avoiding contagion or dealing with quarantine?

No. I don't believe there are any confirmed cases here in Australia, but even if there were, I still wouldn't be worried. I don't believe it is any more deadly than any 'regular' strains of influenza.

Writer's Block: Taxmen and Poetry

It's Tax Day in the U.S., a day when the mind might be too occupied with deductions and long lines at the post office to think about poetry. But let's try: what's your favorite line of poetry? Song lyrics count.
